Overview

The TMAC Explorer is a Windows application that renders the TMAC HMI for any TMAC system. Additionally, the TMAC Explorer provides an easy interface for managing TMACs on a network. The following capabilities are available for the TMAC Explorer:

  • Connect to a TMAC 3.0 system
  • Find all TMACs connected to an associated network
  • Manually add a TMAC by entering an IP address for the TMAC system
  • Designate TMACs as favorites for quick access
  • Set a default TMAC to automatically connect to when the TMAC Explorer is launched
  • Quickly update software on the TCU

Managing Systems with the TMAC Explorer

The TMAC Explorer allows for easy management of TMAC systems on a net- work. Each TMAC that has been marked as a favorite appears in the center of the TMAC Explorer, and users can set a default TMAC to connect to when the TMAC Explorer is launched. Open the Edit Machine List window by clicking the GET STARTED button.

The Edit Machine List window provides a list of all TMACs on the network that the TMAC Explorer is communicating with. This list is populated automatically and appears on the Non-Favorites side of the window. If there are TMACs missing from the list, the list can be refreshed by clicking the FIND TMACS button. If the list fails to populate automatically, an IP address can be manually added for a TMAC. To manually add a TMAC, perform the following steps:

  1. Find the Manual Add IP: field among the list of Non-Favorite TMACs. The field is designated with a purple tab
  2. Enter the IP address for the specific TMAC to be adde
  3. Click Save
Note: The TMAC must be connected to the network to be added manually

TMACs listed under Favorites appear in the middle of the TMAC Explorer for easy access. To create a list of TMAC favorites, perform the following steps:

  1. Browse to and select a TMAC from the non-favorites
  2. Click the " > " button to move the selected TMAC to Favorite
  3. Repeat steps 1-2 for each TMAC to be a Favorite
  4. If desired, make one of the Favorite TMACs the default TMAC. When the TMAC Explorer is launched, a connection is established with the default TMAC automatically. Select the TMAC and click the SET AS DEFAULT button. (Note: To change the default TMAC, select another TMAC and click the SET AS DEFAULT button. Additionally, the default status can be removed by selecting the default TMAC and clicking the UNSET AS DEFAULT button).
  5. Click CLOSE

Interpreting TMAC Cards in the Favorites Lists

Additional information can be discerned from looking closer at the TMAC "Cards" in the favorites list. Each TMAC Card contains the following information:

  • Machine Name (1)
  • IP address (2)
  • Instance Names (3)
  • Version Number (4)

Each TMAC Card may also have icons next to the version number that designate additional information. Refer to Table 2-1 for descriptions of these icons.

Disconnecting from a TMAC

While connected to a TMAC using the TMAC Explorer, changes can not be made to the machine list. To view and edit the machine list, use the following steps to disconnect from TMAC:

  1. Click the Disconnect button on the TMAC Tool Bar
  2. Confirm selection
