Overview
The TMAC Explorer is a Windows application that renders the TMAC HMI for any TMAC system. Additionally, the TMAC Explorer provides an easy interface for managing TMACs on a network. The following capabilities are available for the TMAC Explorer:
- Connect to a TMAC 3.0 system
- Find all TMACs connected to an associated network
- Manually add a TMAC by entering an IP address for the TMAC system
- Designate TMACs as favorites for quick access
- Set a default TMAC to automatically connect to when the TMAC Explorer is launched
- Quickly update software on the TCU
Managing Systems with the TMAC Explorer
The TMAC Explorer allows for easy management of TMAC systems on a net- work. Each TMAC that has been marked as a favorite appears in the center of the TMAC Explorer, and users can set a default TMAC to connect to when the TMAC Explorer is launched. Open the Edit Machine List window by clicking the GET STARTED button.
Edit Machine List Window
The Edit Machine List window provides a list of all TMACs on the network that the TMAC Explorer is communicating with. This list is populated automatically and appears on the Non-Favorites side of the window. If there are TMACs missing from the list, the list can be refreshed by clicking the FIND TMACS button. If the list fails to populate automatically, an IP address can be manually added for a TMAC. To manually add a TMAC, perform the following steps:
- Find the Manual Add IP: field among the list of Non-Favorite TMACs. The field is designated with a purple tab
- Enter the IP address for the specific TMAC to be adde
- Click Save
TMACs listed under Favorites appear in the middle of the TMAC Explorer for easy access. To create a list of TMAC favorites, perform the following steps:
- Browse to and select a TMAC from the non-favorites
- Click the " > " button to move the selected TMAC to Favorite
- Repeat steps 1-2 for each TMAC to be a Favorite
- If desired, make one of the Favorite TMACs the default TMAC. When the TMAC Explorer is launched, a connection is established with the default TMAC automatically. Select the TMAC and click the SET AS DEFAULT button. (Note: To change the default TMAC, select another TMAC and click the SET AS DEFAULT button. Additionally, the default status can be removed by selecting the default TMAC and clicking the UNSET AS DEFAULT button).
- Click CLOSE
Interpreting TMAC Cards in the Favorites Lists
Additional information can be discerned from looking closer at the TMAC "Cards" in the favorites list. Each TMAC Card contains the following information:
- Machine Name (1)
- IP address (2)
- Instance Names (3)
- Version Number (4)
Each TMAC Card may also have icons next to the version number that designate additional information. Refer to Table 2-1 for descriptions of these icons.
Disconnecting from a TMAC
While connected to a TMAC using the TMAC Explorer, changes can not be made to the machine list. To view and edit the machine list, use the following steps to disconnect from TMAC:
- Click the Disconnect button on the TMAC Tool Bar
- Confirm selection
Updating TMAC From the TMAC Explorer
The TMAC Explorer notifies the user when an update is available for a TMAC system and allows for quick access to the system updater. To update a system, perform the following steps:
- Select the TMAC to upgrade from the available favorites list. TMACs with an available upgrade are labeled with a "↑"
- Click the LAUNCH UPDATER button
- The TMAC Explorer opens the system information menu on the system update tab. The system update tab displays the currently installed version number, latest available version number and the date of the last update. click the UPDATE button to begin the update.
- Once the update completes, TMAC reboots automatically.
Note: The System update is also available after connecting to a TMAC system and is located in the system menu.
TMAC Utility Bar
TMAC Utility Bar For System Configuration
The TMAC Explorer offers access to additional TMAC related utilities through the TMAC Explorer Utility bar. The Utility bar currently offers the following:
- Offline Data Viewer: Offers the full functionality of the TMAC data viewer to view exported recordings. This does not require an active connection to a TMAC system.
- Offline System Configuration: Offers the ability to create, view and edit a TMAC system configuration file without an active connection to a TMAC system. System Configuration files should only be created/edited by system integrators and supervisors.
Offline Data Viewer
The Offline Data Viewer provides an interface to view exported recordings. This allows TMAC recording data to be accessed and viewed on any device that the TMAC Explorer is installed on without an active TMAC connection. Additionally, recording data from multiple TMAC systems can be viewed at once allowing for easy comparisons of multiple systems that monitor the same machining process. The Offline Data Viewer currently allows the user to view Cutting Mode and Millivolt Mode recordings.
Opening Recordings with the Offline Data Viewer
Use the following steps to launch the Offline Data Viewer and view an exported TMAC recording:
- Press the APPS button on the TMAC Explorer
- Select OFFLINE DATA VIEWER
- Select the Mode of Operation
- Navigate to and select the exported TMAC recording file
- Press Open (Note: Up to 10 recording files can be opened in the Data Viewer. Use the BROWSE button to add additional recording files, if necessary. Each recording file may include multiple TMAC recordings.)
- Once all desired recording files have been selected, press APPLY
Once recordings are opened, the Offline Data Viewer functions as normal.
Offline System Configuration
The offline system configuration utility provides a software interface to create, edit and view TMAC configurations. This should only be used by system integrators or as directed by CEI support. System configuration is documented in the System Integrator’s Manual.
