Machine utilization is a simpler alternative to OEE for measuring machine productivity.

OnTakt calculates and displays machine utilization for each machine on a chosen day on the machine state history page.

Utilization is calculated by adding up all the time the machine was utilized during the day and dividing by 24 hours to get a percentage.

The utilization for each machine is displayed to the right of the machine's name, and a small bar graph visualizes the percentage.

Custom state mappings

Only states that are "active" (green) are considered utilized.

To change which machine states are considered active, you can add custom state mappings in Settings > Machines > Additional state mappings:

  • To add a machine state to a category, type the name of the state (case-sensitive) into the text box for the category and then press enter.
  • To remove a machine state from a category, press backspace to select it (it will turn red when selected) and then press backspace again to confirm, or click the remove button next to the state's name inside the text box.

Remember to click OK to save the settings.
