Part of the OnTakt User Guide.

Each machine has a set of programs that it has reported. OnTakt creates a new program item for each filename the machine reports having loaded even if no parts or events are recorded.

Manual program loading

Some controls do not accurately report the program they are running. In this case, you can create a new program manually and assign it a program load variable value.

Then on its machine, set the program load variable to a variable that can be modified by the running program to signal to OnTakt which program it is. When it has the value set on the program, OnTakt will consider that program to be loaded, so any parts reported will be considered have been produced by it.

How to manually create and assign a program

  1. Click on the "Processes" module
  2. At the bottom of the screen, under "unassigned programs," click on the green "+ New" button
  3. Assign a file name, machine, and process to the program
